About This Policy

VCROW MyJobQuote ("we", "our", or "us") operates a mobile application that connects homeowners who need work done quickly with skilled tradespeople looking for local jobs. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it.

Information We Collect

Information you provide directly:

• Account details — name, email address, and password (stored securely via Firebase Authentication).
• Profile information — for tradespeople: trade category, general service area, and contact preference. For homeowners: general location or suburb for job matching.
• Job listings & quotes — descriptions of work requested or quotes submitted through the app.

Information collected automatically:

• Device identifiers — anonymous Firebase installation IDs used for push notifications and crash reporting.
• Usage data — app interactions (screens visited, features used) collected in aggregate via Firebase Analytics to help us improve the app. This data is not linked to your identity.
• Crash reports — technical error logs collected via Firebase Crashlytics to identify and fix bugs.

What we do NOT collect:

• Payment or financial information (payments, if any, are handled externally).
• Precise real-time GPS location (only general area/suburb provided by you).
• Contacts, photos, or other device data unless you explicitly share them in a job post.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect solely to:

• Create and manage your account.
• Match homeowners with relevant tradespeople in their area.
• Enable tradespeople to submit quotes and homeowners to review them.
• Send you in-app and push notifications related to your jobs or quotes.
• Diagnose technical problems and improve app performance.
• Respond to your support requests.

We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating the app.

04 — Third Parties

Firebase & Third-Party Services

VCROW MyJobQuote is built on Google Firebase, which provides our backend infrastructure. The following Firebase services are in use:

• Firebase Authentication — secure sign-in and account management.
• Cloud Firestore — stores your account, job, and quote data.
• Firebase Storage — stores any images you attach to job posts.
• Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) — delivers push notifications.
• Firebase Analytics — aggregated, anonymised usage analytics.
• Firebase Crashlytics — anonymous crash and error reporting.

Data stored in Firebase is governed by Google's Privacy Policy (policies.google.com/privacy). Google does not use your Firebase-stored data for advertising purposes.

We use no other third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or tracking tools.

05 — Sharing

Sharing Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share data only in these circumstances:

• Between users, by design — when a homeowner posts a job, relevant tradespeople in the area can see the job description and general location. When a tradesperson submits a quote, the homeowner sees their name, trade, and quote details.
• Service providers — Firebase / Google, as described above.
• Legal requirements — if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
• Business transfers — in the event of a merger or acquisition, user data may be transferred. We will notify you before this occurs.

06 — Retention

Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Completed or cancelled jobs are retained for up to 12 months for dispute resolution purposes, then deleted.

You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us (see Section 11). We will complete deletion within 30 days.

07 — Security

Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored in Firebase with role-based access controls (Firestore Security Rules) ensuring that users can only access their own data and public job listings. Passwords are never stored in plain text — Firebase Authentication handles credential management using industry-standard hashing.

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, please contact us immediately.

08 — Children

Children's Privacy

VCROW MyJobQuote is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we become aware that a minor has created an account, we will promptly delete it.

09 — Your Rights

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correction — update inaccurate or incomplete information.
• Deletion — request that we delete your account and data.
• Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format.
• Objection — object to specific processing of your data.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address in Section 11. We will respond within 30 days.

10 — Changes

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, for material changes, notify you via in-app notification or email at least 14 days before the change takes effect.

Continued use of the app after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
